The Hayloft Workshops are the vision of Amanda Priest. They are based on her farm in rural Lincolnshire, opposite a beautiful forest. The Hayloft offers a wonderful, light, airy space making it an ideal spot to encourage creativity within a relaxed environment. The Hayloft houses Amanda’s jewellery workshop, a meeting room and a large classroom. This fully equipped teaching space provides the perfect learning environment to develop your skills in a variety of art disciplines.
After Amanda completed a BA(Hons) in Contemporary Jewellery Design, Amanda became concerned that her creative life would become quite insular whilst working on her own in her workshop, (just her and her Doberman). She missed the interaction of university life. In 2017 Amanda was delighted to be selected by the Crafts Council for their Hothouse programme as one of their ‘ones to watch!’
“This intensive programme gave me the confidence to launch The Hayloft Workshops, enabling me to share both the location and my time with other creative people. The balance of making my own work and the interaction of The Hayloft Workshops allows me to have the best of both worlds!”
Amanda is hopeful that in years to come, the Hayloft Workshops will become a creative hub for Lincolnshire. The workshops will become a space for people to mix and learn from each other under the guidance of expert tutors.
Workshops will include photography, drawing, printing, painting, glass fusing, floristry, felt making and many more. Each workshop will be designed to equip each participant with the knowledge and skills in that particular discipline. People of all ages, skills and interest levels are encouraged to get involved in the workshops to develop or even nurture existing skills and of course, have fun too!
The mission of The Hayloft is to provide quality workshops in various creative disciplines, led by expert tutors within beautiful relaxed surroundings.
